Generate an API key for Lead Management in PropSpace

How to generate a Leads API key in PropSpace

This article explains how to generate an API key for importing and updating leads from external sources into your account.

✅ Prerequisites

Before you begin, please make sure that:
  1. You have Super Manager access in your account.
    If you are not sure whether you have Super Manager access, please contact the Support team to confirm.
  2. Your Propspace account can generate a maximum of 3 Leads API keys.
The Leads API key can be used to:
  1. import leads from external sources, and
  2. Update leads coming from those same sources.

🔐 Important security note:
  1. Once the API key is created, you must copy and securely store both the API Key and the Secret immediately.
  2. For security reasons, the Secret will not be visible again after the creation dialogue is closed.
  3. You will also be required to tick the confirmation checkbox before completing the creation.

🛠 How to create a Leads API key

  1. 📝 Key details to complete:
    Log in to your account > Go to Admin > Click on Profile > Open Developer Settings > Click Create New Key.



  2. Enter the Key Name, Act as and select the Validity Period. When you select the validity kinldy make sure there are different time period availabl such as 1 week, 1 month, 3 month (quarterly), 1 year and Never Expeires.

  3. Now after entering all the details click on Create Key.


  4. After the key is created, a dialog box will appear. Copy and securely save the API Key and Secret, and tick the confirmation checkbox to complete the process. 
    Note: The Secret cannot be retrieved again after this step.



🗑 How to Remove a Leads API Key

  1. Go to Admin > Profile > Developer Settings.
  2. Locate the API key you want to remove.
  3. Click the Remove button next to the key.
  4. Confirm the removal when prompted.

  5. Once removed, the API key and its Secret will no longer be valid, and any integrations using that key will stop working immediately.

Notes
You can also hover over the    More details icon (tooltip) to view:
  1. Who created the API key,
  2. When it was created, Valid till and, 
  3. Which user the key is acting as.
